The Basics
The three main characters from the first movie are back for another adventure.
Its nearing the end of the Ice Age and all the animals of Earth are enjoying the new melting paradise that they live in.
While the ice melts lush valleys and all forms of beautiful vegetation reveal themselves creating natural water-parks and playgrounds.
Unfortunately this is just temporary as an ever looming danger is on its way.
Manny, (Ray Romano ), Diego, (Denis Leary) and Sid, (John Leguizamo), soon realise that the miles of melting ice overlooking their valley will soon crack and come crashing down on the valley followed by a huge flood capable of destroying all in its path.
The Sub-Zero heroes must act quickly and so set out to spread the word to help the rest of the animals escape almost certain doom.
As they try to figure a way out they hear from a, Turkey Vulture that far away there is a giant tree that can act as a boat and save all the creatures.
So, Manny and the gang set off on another adventure to find the tree that will save their lives.
Along the way the pals meet, Ellie, a female Mammoth who believes she is an Opossum.
She is invited to join the group with her brothers, Crash and Eddie, (who happen to be real Opossums).
During their journey they encounter many other characters and new life experiences.
Diego, faces his fear of water, Manny, finds happiness away from loneliness, Ellie, finally realises that she is a Mammoth and not an Opossum and Sid, finds respect among a tribe of mini-sloths.

Ice Age 2 - Trivia
- The Laotion rock rat. is the closest living creature with the greatest similarity to, Scrat.
- A "Sunny Delight" advert got Sean William Scott in the media spotlight.
- Many of the animal species shown in the Ice Age films never actually lived in the same areas, let alone the same time periods.
- Scrat's fight with the piranhas is a direct parody of Wo hu cang long (2000).
- There are improvements in fur simulation and other advanced changes.
- The animation was created pretty quickly in just eight months

Ice Age 2 - Review
Another success story from, Blue Sky Studios.
This second instalment of the Ice Age adventure is just as slick and clever as the first but this time with a great improvement on the animation characters and their surroundings.
I love the, Scrat character. He is still getting himself into trouble and is featured more in this movie.
Although "The Meltdown" doesnt pluck our emotional strings as much as the original did, it does make up for that with its abundance of funny moments.
